Beach Blanket Bingo
In my list of things I love about Florida, the short drive to a beach is among the top 10. We drove over to St. Pete Beach Saturday (my new dream is to retire there) and spent a lovely day.
The water was freezing cold, unusual for the Gulf. But the sand was warm and smooth, and the breeze was just right. We played for hours. Eliza dug for sea shells, and Griff snorkled to find her more in the sandy bottom of the ocean floor. He’s gotten really good at the snorkling.
The only unfortunate part of the day was the bad can of sunscreen. We all were covered in SPF 50, but we all also burned.
Now, these children of mine are mostly children of their daddy’s. Everyone went to bed last night flaming red. I woke up that way (I haven’t had a burn this bad since I was 15.). Quite frankly, I’m still that way. But all three of the rest of them have faded to a pretty pink where they haven’t faded to an attractive tan. I’ll start peeling in a couple of weeks… just in time for our annual beach trip with Chuck, Stacy, and the cousins (which is, another of my favorite Florida things).

Sounds like a fun day! Bummer about the sun burns.
That water looks so pretty!
