40 or Less… Seriously? Only 40?

May 2nd, 2008

Robin over at Pensieve is having a new Carnival…she posts a photo each week & the participants have to write something to describe their reaction to it in 40 words or less. I’m not usually one to use fewer than 40 words for anything, but by Friday night, that’s probably about all I have in me.

So here’s my first attempt. Forty words exactly … who knew?

Spring… ah, glorious spring… the warmth of the sun on my face… the vivid colors, the green, the yellow… oh, thank you, spring… for daffodils and hummingbirds and warm breezes and tulips and puffy white clouds on crystal blue skies…

LOVE IT! How you ended up with 40 exactly is just amazing. I took the simple way out and did a very short haiku.

Beautiful, hope spring comes and stays. Amazing to get 40. Have you heard of 365×40 you should do that.

I just had to smile when I read your post. You described beautifully pretty much what I saw that day (throw in some roses and you’re there!).

Thanks for chiming in and following the “rules” perfectly!

    :)

I just posted on someone else’s blog how profound this is to me, living in the northern plains, where snow is forecasted YET AGAIN, for tomorrow. The 3rd of May. Oh little girl, come to the northern plains and play with me!! I need some spring!

Thanks for visiting my Friday Haiku/40PC at Sacred Ruminations and leaving the link back here. Your new blog does look lovely ;–)

Yours is a wonderful response to this challenge … focusing on the joys of Springtime’s arrival!

    Hugs and blessings,

I’m a big fan of spring. Now, here in Florida, it’s a barely noticeable change from winter. But growing up in Arkansas, spring was something to be eagerly anticipated.
