Not So Good… Are You Kidding Me?!
So this morning, we went outside and did water colors on the side of the house. They all thought it was great at first… the boys were stoked to ‘graffiti’ the house… but by the end, it was just us girls. I thought they all did some pretty groovy artwork. It was all very in-tune with each personality. Hannah painted rainbows and flowers. Griff painted Pokemon. Hayden wrote Gators trash talk & Eliza just drew pretties.
After that, the kids had a shaving cream fight. Four cans of the cheapest shaving cream I could find provided an hour of a good time. I think it was $4 well spent.
Looks like fun, doesn’t it? There is still shaving cream all over our back yard… on the swingset, the porch screen, the grass. Everywhere.
Now, eventually, the shaving cream ran out and their skin began to dry out (as will happen with cheap shaving cream!), and so I cranked up the water hose and hosed them all off. Threw a little extra water on the garden while I was there.
Next, we had sugar-free Kool-Aid slushies. And we tried water balloons, but I always forget what a pain in the tushie it is to fill them up with four kids
standing over you saying ‘me, next, me, next.’ I gave that one up quickly. But we did take a couple of minutes to laugh at Hayden’s shaving cream hair.
Then, we broke out the baby oil and the slip & slide. It was a pain in my tushie (actually my sunburnt shin and my wrist when I fell) to get it in the right spot, but it was a good time.
Mike came home from commencement, and while I was showering, he asked the kids about their day.
Eliza gave him a detailed account of her day.
Hannah said, “it was good.”
Hayden didn’t answer.
Griff said, “not so good.”
Little snots. I’m going to go make some Amish Friendship Bread & I just might share with them if they can each come up with one thing they enjoyed about today. Me? I enjoyed the painting and the music and the sun and the laughter.
But most of all, I enjoyed Mike coming home.

Looks like loads of fun to me:) Love Hayden’s hair! And I know the girls loved painting the house. No comment from Hayden, eh? I’ll get his little tush! At least the girls were nice:) What an awesome Aunt Chel you are:)
okay, you need to post a pic of your garden too!
I’ll get you a picture of the garden. It’s doing great! The herbs died, and Eliza cried. But everything else is doing super. I’m hoping to be eating cucumbers from the garden by June.
Wow! Are you super Mom or what? Everything looks so pretty and green there.
So fun!
Are you exhausted?
kellie
Kellie, I was worn out. But it makes me feel better to know the kids were, too. Hayden and Hannah both took naps last night, and I’m sure my kids are gonna crash tonight.
You are the best. We wish we were there for fun.
Love
