Cable Confessions
Yesterday, I wrote about how I love tv. I failed to mention that I also love cable. Or that I think cable is a basic utility like water and electricity. Or how I cannot imagine life without a dvr.
That would probably explain why so much of my viewing is on cable, especially in the summertime. Who doesn’t love that cable shows new shows in the vast tv wasteland that is summertime?! This week and next are the big summertime series openers, and I’m all excited. Here’s what we’ll be watching at Chez Chel in the next few weeks.
Tonight, “Burn Notice” begins its second season (in about seven minutes, to be exact). I didn’t watch it last summer, but USA put it on one day a week or so ago as a marathon, and Mike and I have been watching all week getting ready for tonight’s episode.
Next Wednesday, “Project Runway” starts its fifth season. I adore this show. Seriously. And I love that so many people at work watch it, too, so we get to discuss it the next day. It airs at 10 p.m. (EST) on Bravo.
And next Friday, oh, next Friday. It’s the “Monk”/”Psych” night. Griff’s excited about that one, too. For those of you who don’t know, Monk’s amazing and funny and fun and delightful. And Psych makes me laugh so hard I think I’ll spit Diet Coke. USA scored with that combination. And you know, right, that the cutie patootie who plays Gus also played Bud on “The Cosby Show?” How could you not like that?
So, with those shows and all of the Astros games, we’re pretty booked.

The Goodnight house is excited about next Friday too!!!
We miss you tv junkies
We miss you, too. We’ll have a long distance Monk/Psych night.
You probably won’t believe this, but we don’t own a TV.
Seriously. And…I’ve never lived in a house that had cable. LOL. You probably think I’m really deprived.
We do, however, watch a lot of movies on our laptop and portable DVD player. My husband and I watched all the Monk seasons that have been released to DVD and the first season of psych. It’s amazing how I can be irritated at him and laugh at him at the same time! You reminded me so I just added psych season 2 to my netflix queue.
Ok, that’s just crazy.
But we do love Netflix. You could probably get “Project Runway” on disc, too. It was great fun.
We’re turning our cable off this week. I’m a little nervous about it. You’ll have to blog your favorite shows so I can keep up!
I’ll blog all about my fave shows… just for you.
Eek!! No cable?! I sometimes think about the money we could save by not having it and then I consider life without Noggin.
