All’s well here

August 19th, 2008

We’re doing fine after the storm. Frankly, the way Fay turned, it hardly touched us. Some wind and rain. Nothing problematic. Those of you still in the path, let me know you’re doing ok!

Griff’s going back to school tomorrow. And everyone’s doing well with the nighttime routine for now. I know, two days hardly makes a routine, but still.

And now, I’m going to go read today’s paper and then start on a new book. Have I mentioned here how much I love BookMooch? Go see… it’s addictive.

My new favorite thing

June 22nd, 2008

Did everyone know about BookMooch but me? And if so, why the heck didn’t anyone tell me?! I’ve been mooching for a week now & I’m deep into loving it.

Now, I’ve got a teensy bit of an addictive personality, so it’s not overly surprising that I’ve been packaging up books to mail all week long, but it’s so cool! Everyone’s got to go try it. Because they’re books! And it encourages reading. And it’s so cool. Now, I’m going to sound like a commercial, but so be it.

So here’s how it works… go to BookMooch and join. It’s free. List books that you’ve got lying around the house already read and taking up space. Find books you want but can’t bring yourself to buy when your average $20 book would only put about 5 gallons of gas in your car. List those in your Wishlist & swap. It’s that easy.

I’ve got books coming to me for me and for Griff, and my stack of books around the house is going down quickly. And I love that people who really want to read those books are the ones getting them. So go on, register yourself.

And visit me there.
