reason #142 why…
…I should be a personal shopper…
With the exception of the those for Mike, Griff, and Eliza, I have completed my Christmas shopping. That’s right. And it’s hardly Thanksgiving. Go, me. Every niece and nephew, every friend and far away love, every teacher, every in-law.
Last year, it was a stressful season with jewelry making and present buying (and wrapping and mailing and on and on) and that darned insurance class and writing Mika’s birthday story. It was just too much. So I decided to try to do as much as possible on the shopping early this year to eliminate at least one stress.
I put the ornaments for everyone on layaway at Hallmark months ago (and I’m close to being done with my payments), and I’ve been picking up gifts and putting them aside for quite some time. I’m not sure yet, but I may have to give Mika her birthday story late this year (again, I signed up for an insurance class & have to start and finish it by Dec. 15). But we’ll see… that’s always one of my favorite things of the season.
I’m aiming for an easy, enjoyable holiday season this year. At this moment, I’m feeling pretty good about my chances.

Merry Christmas - Holiday Happies
I love the holidays. LOVE them. Pretty much everything about them. And I’ve been thinking of how I could share my holiday love with all of you, corny though that sounds. (And yes, I know that ‘all of you’ is about 10 folks, most of whom love me in real life already. Whatever.)
So until Christmas, I’m going to try to share holiday happies with you, little treats for my bloggy friends like I send little treats to my real-life friends. I hope you enjoy them.
And for today’s happy, go have a yummy Starbucks drink for a worthy cause. Today, in support of World AIDS Day, Starbucks is donating five cents to the Global Fund for every hand-crafted beverage sold. So, go have a chai latte and know that you’re helping someone.
I’m thinking Eliza and I will leave early in the morning and stop on our way to work and school. Wish we lived near enough to each of you to have you meet us there.
