Thankful Thursday
I’ve seen Thankful Thursday posts before, but this is my first time to participate. I’m feeling all tired (thanks to the antibiotic) and crabby (thanks to the tired) this week, so this is a perfect time to do some thankful reflection.
* I’m thankful for a job (though I haven’t liked it much this week). These are difficult economic times, and I’m grateful to have a job that pays the mortgage and has good health insurance.
* I’m thankful for good teachers for Griff and Eliza. We had some less than stellar experiences with Griff’s teacher last year, and we’re so grateful that this year is going better.
* We’re thankful that friends and family in Louisiana fared well as Gustav tore through the state. Last count, everyone was without power but with standing houses. And that’s something to appreciate.
* I’m thankful for good friends, far away though they may be.
* I’m thankful for books Griff should be reading. I’ve read two really good books this week, both for him to read. (The latest is “Rules” by Cynthia Lord. Broke my heart, made me cry, but was really good.)
* I’m thankful for a husband who loves me even if I’m homesick - right here at home.
